universal Care Services Expands with Six New Extra Care Schemes Across Norfolk
We’re delighted to share some exciting news at Universal Care Services. As part of our continued growth, we have recently taken on the management of six extra care schemes across Norfolk, marking an important milestone in our journey and reflecting the confidence placed in our approach to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
Transitions like these are about much more than operational change. For residents, continuity and familiarity are incredibly important, which is why a key focus from the outset has been ensuring a smooth and reassuring experience for everyone involved.
Keeping Familiar Faces at the Heart of Care
One of the most important aspects of this transition has been the successful TUPE transfer of existing care teams. By retaining the dedicated staff already working within the care schemes, residents can continue to receive support from the people they know and trust.
Just over a week into the transfer, we are incredibly pleased with how well our new colleagues have settled into the organisation. Their professionalism, commitment, and local knowledge are invaluable, and we are excited to welcome them to the Universal Care Services family.
Maintaining stability through periods of change is essential, and we remain committed to creating an environment where residents feel safe, supported, and confident every day.
Supporting a Smooth Transition
To help make the change as seamless as possible, we have introduced a range of new resources and improvements across the schemes. These include bespoke brochures tailored to each location, refreshed online information, and comprehensive welcome booklets designed to provide clear, accessible guidance for residents, families, and colleagues.
These enhancements are all part of our wider commitment to open communication and ensuring everyone has the information and support they need throughout the transition.

A Significant Step Forward
Reflecting on this exciting development, Lizzie Wrafter from Universal Care Services said:
“This is a significant moment for us. We’re not only expanding, but we’re deepening relationships, trust, and continuity of care. Our focus is ensuring every individual feels supported, valued, and confident from day one.”
As we grow, our values remain unchanged. Every decision we make is centred around delivering compassionate, high-quality care and creating positive experiences for the people we support.
Why Extra Care schemes Matters
Extra care housing plays a vital role in helping people maintain their independence while having access to personalised support when they need it. It offers the best of both worlds: the freedom of independent living combined with the reassurance of professional care within a safe, community-focused environment.
With these six new schemes now part of our portfolio, we are proud to strengthen our ability to support more people across Norfolk, helping residents live independently, confidently, and with the highest possible quality of life.
We look forward to working with residents, families, colleagues, and local partners as we begin this exciting new chapter together.
